Nexon Games has revealed Woochi the Wayfarer, a new single-player action-adventure inspired by the classic Korean tale The Tale of Jeon Woochi. Developed by LoreVault Studio and published by Nexon Games, the title follows in the footsteps of hits like Black Myth: Wukong, which reimagined a legendary Chinese story.

The announcement came with a two-and-a-half-minute cinematic trailer built in Unreal Engine 5.

While the trailer teases sweeping visuals and an epic atmosphere, it offers no real glimpse of actual gameplay. A release date or launch window has yet to be confirmed, but the game is planned for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Park Yong-hyun, CEO of Nexon Games, promised a “fresh and unique play experience” blending traditional Korean cultural elements with universal themes. “We aim to deliver a story that resonates with players worldwide while showcasing our development expertise,” he said in a press statement.

Adding to its cultural authenticity, the soundtrack is being composed by renowned Korean musician Jung Jae-il, known for his work on the Oscar-winning film Parasite and Netflix phenomenon Squid Game. Drawing from traditional Korean music, the score is expected to complement the game’s rich setting.

With its blend of folklore-inspired storytelling, high-end visuals, and evocative music, Woochi the Wayfarer could be a striking showcase of Korean culture in gaming-provided the gameplay matches the promise of its presentation.
