vivo Vision MR Headset Teased Ahead of China-Only Launch

vivo has finally lifted the curtain-well, just a little-on its much-discussed Mixed Reality headset, now officially called the vivo Vision. The name is an obvious nod to Apple’s Vision Pro, and the resemblance doesn’t stop there. In its freshly released teaser video in China, vivo flaunts slick hand tracking, AI-powered features, and an impressively immersive UI.

On paper, it all looks like premium tech ready to wow shoppers.

But there’s a catch-just like Apple, vivo will face the same two hurdles: battery life and comfort. Apple learned these the hard way after the Vision Pro’s hyped launch, and unless vivo has found a magic fix, the experience may be more style than substance. Still, if the company can make the headset lighter, comfier, and last longer, it could win some points in the showroom.

Speaking of showrooms, you probably won’t be taking this device home anytime soon. vivo plans to keep the Vision as an in-store experience only, at least for now, and only in China. That exclusivity might protect it from legal headaches-because let’s be honest, the design and even the name are dangerously close to Apple’s. Whether it’s a bold move or just a shameless copy, the verdict will come when people finally try it on.
