Pricing and broader availability remain undisclosed.

The Vision Explorer Edition emphasizes a lightweight and compact design, weighing 398 grams and measuring just 83mm in height and 40mm thick. Its sleek mirrored visor integrates multiple cameras and sensors for precise tracking. Users can customize comfort through four interchangeable light-blocking shields with foam padding and a choice of two straps – one optimized for long-term comfort and another for added stability.

Under the hood, the headset features dual 8K Micro-OLED displays with a resolution of 3840 x 3552 pixels per eye, delivering 94% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The visuals promise a 180-degree field of view, magnetic diopter lenses, and immersive spatial audio. Users can also experience a virtual 120-inch display with full support for eye tracking and hand gesture navigation.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor, paired with vivo’s own OriginOS Vision platform. Battery life is managed by the in-house Blue Ocean power management system. The headset also boasts full-color passthrough with 13ms latency, spatial video playback, and support for MR and PCVR gaming titles.

While vivo is clearly positioning the Vision Explorer Edition against rivals like Apple’s Vision Pro, its market entry strategy focuses first on domestic rollout. For now, curious consumers can try out the headset hands-on across a dozen vivo stores in China before global expansion is considered.
