vivo has officially launched the V60e in India, a device that blends upper mid-range specs with premium camera ambitions. After weeks of teasers, the company finally confirmed that this model debuts a 200MP Samsung HP9 sensor – a first for the V-series.
It’s a bold move that signals vivo’s intent to bring flagship-grade imaging to more affordable devices.
The main highlight is clearly the 200MP OIS-enabled primary lens with an f/1.8 aperture, capable of remarkable detail capture and pixel binning for sharper low-light photos. Alongside it sits an 8MP ultrawide camera offering a 120° field of view – an odd pairing that some enthusiasts might find underwhelming given the high-end main sensor. On the front, a 50MP selfie camera handles portraits and video calls, complemented by vivo’s signature Aura Light LED ring flash.
The V60e boasts a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED quad-curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,600 nits brightness – an impressive spec for this segment. The display houses an in-screen fingerprint reader, and the body maintains a slim 7.49mm profile, weighing just 190g. The build is plastic but durable, with IP68/IP69 certification and Diamond Shield Glass protection, ensuring resistance to dust and splashes.
Under the hood, vivo uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo SoC, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The phone runs Funtouch OS 15 (based on Android 15) and promises three major OS updates with five years of security patches – something long requested by vivo users. Powering all this is a 6,500 mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging, promising all-day endurance and rapid top-ups.
The device arrives in two elegant finishes – Elite Purple and Noble Gold – and hits stores on October 10. Pricing starts at ₹29,999 ($340) for the 8GB/128GB variant, rising to ₹31,999 ($360) for 8GB/256GB and ₹33,999 ($385) for the top 12GB/256GB version.
While the camera setup may raise eyebrows – 200MP paired with an 8MP ultrawide feels uneven – the V60e still shapes up as a striking mix of design, camera innovation, and long battery life in the sub-₹35K range. Whether vivo can justify the high megapixel count with real-world photo quality remains to be seen, but there’s no doubt this phone aims to shake up its category.
