vivo is getting ready to launch its new S50 series in China, and the brand has started to slowly reveal what buyers can expect. While the official unveiling date is still under wraps, launch is widely expected later this month, and vivo is already using teasers to build hype around the standard S50 and the more compact S50 Pro mini.

The latest teaser focuses on the back of the regular vivo S50.

The phone is shown in a stylish white finish with a subtle, almost shimmering pattern that vivo markets as Confession White. It is paired with a bold square camera island in the top-left corner, housing a triple-camera setup that immediately draws attention and reinforces the S-series reputation for camera-centric design.

Color variety is clearly part of vivo’s strategy for this generation. According to vivo’s post on the Chinese social platform Weibo, the S50 will not only come in Confession White but also in Inspiration Purple, Gentle Blue, and Space Black. These options cover everything from playful pastel to understated dark tones, making it easier for buyers to pick a style that matches their personality rather than settling for a generic finish.

vivo has also showcased the S50 Pro mini, which takes a different visual approach. Instead of the square camera block of the standard S50, the Pro mini uses a pill-shaped rear camera module, helping to clearly distinguish the two models at a glance. This separation in design mirrors how vivo often differentiates its Pro devices, signalling a slightly more premium or specialised experience even before you look at the spec sheet.

On the hardware side, early leaks and reports suggest that the vanilla vivo S50 will carry a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, aimed at users who value fluid scrolling and gaming performance. Under the hood, the phone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, bringing flagship-grade processing to the upper-midrange S-series and keeping it competitive with other stylish performance-focused phones launching this year.

The camera setup is where vivo appears especially confident. The S50 is rumored to include a 50 MP Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera, a rare feature in this price-oriented segment and one that should offer stronger zoom capabilities than a typical midrange device. On the front, a 50 MP selfie camera continues the S-series tradition of catering to users who care about portrait quality, vlogging, and social media content.

Powering all of this is said to be a large 6,500 mAh battery with support for 90 W fast charging. If these numbers hold up in the final product, the S50 should be capable of getting through a full day of intensive use while also topping up quickly when needed, a combination that will appeal to heavy social media users and mobile gamers alike.

vivo has not yet locked in a public launch date, but with official images and multiple design teasers already out in the open, the S50 family appears to be very close to release. For now, fans in China can only wait for the full announcement, when vivo will confirm the complete spec sheet, pricing, and how the S50 and S50 Pro mini fit into the wider competition of stylish camera-first Android phones.
