Vivo has officially lifted the curtain on OriginOS 6, its next-generation smartphone operating system, during the 2025 Vivo Developer Conference. The event also marked the debut of BlueOS 3.0 and CarLink 3.0, underlining Vivo’s growing ecosystem ambitions that stretch from mobile to automotive integration.

But the star of the show was clearly OriginOS 6 – a complete visual and interactive overhaul designed to make the user experience more fluid, intuitive, and visually immersive.

According to Vivo, OriginOS 6 introduces a brand-new spatial design language built around the concept of depth and layering. Every interface element now feels tangible, with subtle shadows and translucent effects giving a sense of physical space. This aesthetic approach echoes Apple’s so-called ‘Liquid Glass’ look rumored for iOS 26, but Vivo adds its own distinctive flair, emphasizing a more multidimensional and atmospheric interface.

The company has also redesigned animations across the system, introducing a new motion curve to make transitions smoother and more lifelike. Whether swiping through screens or opening apps, the movements now mimic real-world physics. The icons have been given special attention, inspired by the vivo X Fold5’s texture-based aesthetic, with intricate light and shadow interplay to create a polished 3D appearance.

Vivo confirmed that OriginOS 6 first launches in China, with a global unveiling set for October 15. The upcoming vivo X300 and iQOO 15 series will be the first smartphones to ship with the new OS pre-installed. For current users, the rollout begins in November with a public beta. The first devices to receive it include the vivo X Fold5, the vivo X200 lineup, and the iQOO 13 and iQOO Neo10 series. Additional models will follow in later waves, ensuring broad support across Vivo’s ecosystem.

With its emphasis on spatial design, fluid animations, and ecosystem connectivity, OriginOS 6 isn’t just a UI refresh – it represents Vivo’s ongoing attempt to blend artistry and function in software. It’s a confident statement that the brand’s focus is shifting from pure performance to refined user experience and seamless cross-device interaction.
