Ulefone is gearing up for IFA Berlin with two new rugged tablets, and one of them comes with a feature no other mainstream tablet currently offers. The Ulefone Armor Pad 5 Ultra is set to debut with a built-in projector, while the Armor Pad 5 Pro will accompany it as a more streamlined version without the projection system.
The highlight of the Armor Pad 5 Ultra is its integrated projector, rated at 200 lumens with a resolution of 960×540 pixels.
It supports autofocus, a 26° throw angle, and a throw ratio of 1.2:1, offering a projection distance between 1 and 2 meters. Projector controls sit on the top edge, with a customizable key for quick access.
Adding to its rugged profile, the tablet features dual 1,000-lumen LED lights on the back, usable in modes such as SOS, continuous light, timed lighting, and sharp beam. Brightness can be fine-tuned, and durations range from 5 to 30 minutes. The dual warning lights can simulate red, blue, or alternating signals, and even replicate the flash and sound patterns of emergency vehicles like fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances.
Practicality has not been overlooked. A built-in handle stand makes the heavy-duty device easier to carry and doubles as a stand for watching videos or working hands-free. Under the hood, the Armor Pad 5 Ultra is powered by the Dimensity 7400X chipset, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Expansion is possible via microSD cards up to 2TB. Out of the box, it runs Android 15, though software update support details remain unclear.
The display is an 11-inch FullHD+ LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and up to 600 nits peak brightness. Photography is handled by a triple-camera system: a 32MP Samsung ISOCELL GD1 selfie shooter and two 64MP sensors on the rear – a Sony IMX682 main camera and an OmniVision OV64B Night Vision lens.
Battery life should be substantial thanks to a massive 24,200 mAh cell, which supports 120W fast charging and even 10W reverse wired charging to power other devices. The Armor Pad 5 Ultra also carries IP68/IP69K ratings, MIL-STD-810H military certification, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, dual SIM support, headset-free FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Despite its versatility, it’s bulky at 27.8mm thick and weighs 1.6 kg.
The Ulefone Armor Pad 5 Pro mirrors most of these specs but omits the projector. Both tablets come only in black, with the Pro priced at $499 (€425 / INR 43,985) and the Ultra at $599 (€510 / INR 52,800). Sales begin in October.
