Sisu: Road to Revenge Trailer Promises Brutal, Bigger Sequel

The cult Finnish action hit Sisu took audiences by storm in 2023 with its relentless mayhem and a premise best described as John Wick with Nazis.

Now, the so-called ‘man who refuses to die’ returns in Sisu: Road to Revenge, and the newly released red band trailer proves that the sequel isn’t holding anything back.

Writer-director Jalmari Helander admits the bar was high after the first film’s success: “I knew we had to top it in every possible way. This time we go deeper into Aatami’s story, raise the stakes, and crank the action to insane levels. It’s epic, emotional, and crazy in the best ways.”

Jorma Tommila is back as Aatami Korpi, returning home after WWII only to discover his family massacred by the Red Army. Grief turns into fury as he tears down his home, loads it onto a truck, and sets out to rebuild elsewhere. But vengeance won’t let him rest – Stephen Lang plays Yeagor, the ruthless Soviet commander responsible for the killings, who hunts Aatami across Finland. What follows is a brutal chase through forests, lakes, and frozen wastelands where survival means outsmarting and outkilling the enemy.

Helander says Lang was the perfect choice: “It’s two older warriors going head-to-head. The balance he brings makes their duel unforgettable.” He promises the widescreen landscapes, thunderous Atmos sound, and escalating set pieces demand to be experienced in theaters.

For fans of the first Sisu, the sequel promises the same raw, unapologetic violence but with bigger stakes and a darker emotional core. And if the trailer is any sign, Korpi’s legend as the unstoppable Finn will only grow.
