Konami used Gamescom Opening Night Live to drop a chilling new trailer for Silent Hill f, giving fans their first listen at Suzie Yeung as Hinako, the game’s lead character. 
Yeung, already beloved for her performance as Yuffie in Final Fantasy VII Remake, brings a fragile but unsettling edge to Hinako’s voice, a choice that could reshape the game’s entire atmosphere.
The trailer begins with Hinako waking up in a shadowy shrine, wandering through dim corridors as a mysterious blue lamp leads her deeper inside. Familiar nightmare dolls reappear, ambushing her in grotesque fashion, before the scene shifts to a rain-soaked house that Hinako seems to recognize as her own. Here, bloodied and torn, she hears a sinister woman’s whisper urging her to kill. The sequence culminates with a disturbing confrontation against a classmate, setting the tone for what’s to come.
Unlike earlier previews that leaned heavily into gore, this one favors tension and dread. It reinforces the game’s unique setting in 1960s Japan, with acclaimed writer Ryukishi07 crafting a story that deliberately contrasts beauty and horror. Producer Motoi Okamoto recently confirmed that Silent Hill f will feature more combat than past entries, reflecting the rising demand for challenging action games. He believes this direction will help attract newcomers while still unsettling longtime fans.
Announced back in 2022, Silent Hill f marks a milestone as the first Japan-developed M-rated installment of the series. It’s a standalone entry, separate from previous Silent Hill storylines, but one that carries heavy and grotesque content warnings. The game launches worldwide on September 25 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
