Seiko 5 Sports Pepsi SRPL99 & GMT SSK047 – Bold, Fizzy, and Limited

Seiko has teamed up with Pepsi to release two limited-edition timepieces from its popular 5 Sports “5KX” series: the Seiko 5 Sports Pepsi SRPL99 and the Seiko 5 Sports Pepsi GMT SSK047.

Both celebrate the iconic blue-red colorway long associated with the “Pepsi” nickname in watch culture-this time with an official stamp of approval from the soft drink giant.

The SRPL99 keeps things classic, echoing the original SKX silhouette with a 38mm stainless steel case, a metallic dial inspired by aluminum cans, and bold white-blue accents on hands and markers

. The word “PEPSI” sits proudly above the 6 o’clock position. It comes on a rattly but reliable metal bracelet with H-shaped links, wrapped in packaging styled like an old-school Pepsi can in red, white, and blue.

The GMT SSK047 brings a darker, sportier twist. It ups the size to 42.5mm, adds a 50/50 blue-red GMT bezel, a black dial, and a harder-coated steel case. This version ditches the bracelet for a black silicone strap embossed with Pepsi branding, and its packaging mirrors a modern black-and-red Pepsi can. Inside beats the same 4R-series automatic movement found in the SRPL99-hand-winding, hacking, and offering 41 hours of power reserve. The SRPL99 adds a day-date display, while the SSK047 trades that for a fourth GMT hand.

Both watches offer 100m water resistance, Seiko’s bright LumiBrite lume, magnetic resistance to 4,800 A/m, and semi-transparent casebacks sporting Pepsi logos. The SRPL99 is priced at $395 USD, while the GMT SSK047 comes in at $550 USD. Only 7,000 pieces of each will be made, making them instant collectibles for both Seiko and Pepsi fans.

While the co-branding is divisive-some love the fun, others feel it cheapens the SKX legacy-there’s no denying the bold, nostalgic charm of these releases. Whether you’re a Pepsi loyalist, a Coke devotee sneaking a peek, or just a fan of vibrant, conversation-starting timepieces, these new Seiko Pepsis are fizzy bursts of watchmaking pop culture.
