Samsung is expanding the rollout of its highly anticipated One UI 8.0 update (based on Android 16) for the Galaxy A35 to global markets. After debuting the software last week in South Korea, the company has now begun distributing the update to international variants, signaling the start of a wider release across multiple regions.
Early reports confirm that users in Iran are among the first to receive the update, which arrives as firmware version A356EXXU5CYI8 and weighs in at approximately 2.3GB. The substantial size suggests that Samsung has packed in a number of meaningful improvements rather than minor tweaks. The update brings a fresh visual polish to One UI, refining icons, animations, and transitions, while adding smarter system-level enhancements that improve multitasking and battery management.
As Samsung continues its regional rollout, more countries are expected to see the update become available over the coming days. To check availability, Galaxy A35 owners can simply navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the update is ready for your device, it will appear automatically for download.
One UI 8.0 isn’t just about cosmetic changes. Users can expect new privacy and security options, improved app continuity between Galaxy devices, and smoother integration with Galaxy AI features. The camera app also gains faster processing times and subtle UI refinements that make switching between shooting modes more fluid. Samsung has also added deeper customization for lock screens and widgets, allowing users to create a more personal interface experience.
The Galaxy A35 originally launched running One UI 6 (Android 14), and Samsung promised an impressive four major OS updates along with five years of security patches – a commitment once reserved for flagship models. With the rollout of One UI 8.0, the device has now received its second major upgrade, and users can expect two more Android versions in the future. This continued support ensures that even mid-range Galaxy phones like the A35 remain fresh, secure, and capable well into the next half-decade.
