Samsung Launches Odyssey OLED G6 with 500Hz OLED Panel, Plus New 37″ and 40″ G7 Models

Samsung has taken the gaming monitor race to a new level with the debut of the Odyssey OLED G6, a 27-inch powerhouse boasting what the company claims is the world’s first officially launched 500Hz OLED panel. Sporting a sharp QHD (2560×1440) resolution and built on Samsung’s own QD-OLED technology, the G6 delivers an exceptional 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, lightning-fast 0.03ms response time, and deep, vibrant colors.

It also carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, hitting up to 1,000 nits peak brightness in HDR mode, and integrates Samsung’s Glare Free coating to reduce eye strain during long sessions.

Gamers will appreciate its arsenal of performance features, including FreeSync Premium Pro support, G-Sync compatibility, Flicker-Free technology, and a Black Equalizer for enhanced visibility in dark scenes. One notable limitation is the use of DisplayPort 1.4 instead of the newer DP 2.1 standard – the latter would allow for fully uncompressed visuals at these extreme refresh rates

.

Still, DP 1.4 is capable of handling the demands for most setups.

In addition to the G6, Samsung also introduced two larger curved displays in its Odyssey G7 lineup: a 37-inch G75F with 4K resolution at up to 165Hz, and a 40-inch G75F with a sharp 5K resolution at up to 180Hz. Both models feature a 1000R curve for immersive viewing, VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support.

The Odyssey OLED G6 is priced at $999, the 37-inch G7 at $899, and the 40-inch G7 at $1,199. All three are available now through Samsung’s official online store.
