The Samsung Galaxy S26 family is shaping up to be more than just an incremental update, and the latest leak sheds light on one of its most important upgrades: memory. According to reliable tipster Ice Universe, Samsung is standardizing faster LPDDR5X RAM across the entire Galaxy S26 lineup, pushing data rates up to an impressive 10.7 Gbps.
While LPDDR5X isn’t new to Samsung’s flagships, the jump in speed is significant.
The Galaxy S24 series marked the brand’s wider adoption of LPDDR5X, and the upcoming Galaxy S25 range is expected to top out at around 9.6 Gbps. With the Galaxy S26, Samsung is reportedly taking that same RAM technology and tuning it for roughly 10% faster transfer speeds, delivering snappier app launches, smoother multitasking and more headroom for AI-powered features and high-refresh-rate gaming.
RAM capacity will remain generous, with 12 GB becoming standard across all Galaxy S26 models, mirroring the S25 series but pairing it with this new performance boost. Samsung’s LPDDR5X journey started back in 2022 with 8.5 Gbps chips, followed by the 9.6 Gbps revision in April 2024 built on a 12 nm process. The S26 series is expected to fully rely on Samsung’s own in-house LPDDR5X chips, which could help the company fine-tune efficiency, power consumption and thermals.
All signs currently point to a February 25 launch for the Galaxy S26 lineup. If these RAM rumors pan out, Samsung’s next-gen flagships could offer one of the fastest and most responsive Android experiences yet, especially for users who push their phones with heavy multitasking, camera processing and on-device AI workflows.

10.7gbps sounds crazy on paper, wonder if we’ll actually feel the difference in real life
