Samsung has officially lifted the curtain on its much-anticipated Galaxy S25 FE at IFA Berlin, giving fans a refined version of last year’s FE model with meaningful upgrades across hardware and software.
While the Galaxy S25 FE looks familiar to the outgoing S24 FE, its improvements in battery life, performance, and feature set make it a stronger contender in the premium mid-range category.
At the heart of the device is the new 4nm Exynos 2400 chipset, designed to deliver more efficient power management and faster processing compared to its predecessor. Samsung pairs the SoC with 8GB of RAM as standard and offers storage configurations stretching from 128GB up to a massive 512GB. To keep performance stable under heavy use, the phone also comes with a vapor chamber that is 10% larger than the one in the S24 FE, ensuring better heat dissipation during gaming or multitasking sessions.
The battery has seen a modest but important bump to 4,900 mAh, and Samsung now supports 45W wired charging, a welcome step up for users demanding quicker top-ups. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging are also supported, reinforcing the FE’s role as a versatile device for daily use.
On the display side, the Galaxy S25 FE sports a generous 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPS panel. It delivers Full HD+ resolution, up to 1,900 nits of peak brightness, and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, offering vibrant visuals and fluid interactions. Users also benefit from an in-display fingerprint reader for security and a new 12MP front-facing camera that promises sharper selfies and clearer video calls.
For photography enthusiasts, the rear setup includes a 50MP primary shooter with optical image stabilization, a 12MP ultrawide lens with a wide 123-degree field of view, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. While the sensors themselves are familiar, Samsung has enhanced the software pipeline with new AI-driven features that improve clarity, color balance, and low-light performance.
The S25 FE maintains a slim 7.4mm body, boasting durability features like IP68 water and dust resistance, Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides, and Samsung’s armor aluminum frame. These additions underline the company’s focus on delivering a device that feels premium while being resilient in real-world use.
Software support is another major selling point. Launching with Android 16 and One UI 8 out of the box, the device comes with a promise of seven years of OS updates and security patches, future-proofing it well beyond most mid-range competitors. AI-powered tools such as Gemini Live, ProVisual Engine, Circle to Search, Generative Edit, and Instant Slow-mo give users new ways to interact with their content, whether editing photos, searching, or managing media.
Connectivity is also forward-looking, with Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6E ensuring faster, more stable connections. The device ships in four stylish colorways – Icyblue, Jetblack, Navy, and White – giving consumers aesthetic flexibility to match their personal style.
Pricing starts at €749 (roughly $875) for the 128GB base variant, with the 256GB model costing €809 ($945) and the 512GB variant priced at €929 ($1,084). Considering its mix of flagship-inspired features, long-term update commitment, and Samsung’s AI software suite, the Galaxy S25 FE aims to be one of the most attractive premium mid-tier smartphones of 2025.
