The upcoming Samsung Galaxy F17 has started to make waves even before its official announcement, thanks to a fresh set of leaked specifications that give us a clearer picture of what to expect.
Following the recent launch of the Galaxy A17, the F17 appears to be positioned as a close sibling, sharing many of its features while being tailored slightly differently for Samsung’s diverse markets.
According to the leaks, the Galaxy F17 will come with a striking 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display. This screen will feature a smooth 90 Hz refresh rate for fluid scrolling and gaming, while Corning Gorilla Glass Victus ensures stronger durability against scratches and minor drops. Samsung is also adding an IP54 rating, which means the device can handle dust and light splashes of water, an increasingly important detail for everyday users. Impressively, all of this comes in a remarkably slim 7.5 mm body, making the phone both sleek and portable.
Performance-wise, the Galaxy F17 will be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1330 chipset, paired with either 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM, and backed by 128 GB of internal storage. Photography enthusiasts will find a triple-lens setup on the rear: a 50 MP main sensor with optical image stabilization for sharper shots, a 5 MP ultrawide lens for landscapes and group photos, and a 2 MP macro camera for close-ups. On the front, a 13 MP selfie camera will take care of video calls and social media snaps.
Battery life looks promising as well, with a 5,000 mAh cell that supports 25W wired charging. As with other recent Samsung releases, a charging brick won’t be included in the retail box. The F17 is expected to ship with Android 15 out of the box, skinned with Samsung’s latest One UI 7. Notably, Samsung will reportedly promise six years of major Android updates, which sets a high standard for long-term software support in this price category.
Price leaks suggest the Galaxy F17 will start at INR 14,499 for the 4 GB RAM variant, with the 6 GB version priced at INR 15,999. Observers have noted that these specs mirror the Galaxy A17 almost identically, raising questions about whether the F17 will simply be a region-specific variant of the same hardware. Either way, Samsung seems determined to strengthen its foothold in the competitive mid-range smartphone segment by delivering strong hardware, sleek design, and extended update promises at accessible price points.
For comparison, the Galaxy A17 has already been spotted in several markets with similar configurations and pricing, further reinforcing the idea that Samsung is applying its multi-brand strategy to give buyers more options. Whether the F17 manages to carve out its own identity or remains a twin of the A17, it will certainly attract attention from budget-conscious users seeking a balance of style, durability, and future-proof software support.
