Samsung continues to refine its mid-range lineup with the rollout of the second beta of One UI 8.0, based on Android 16, for the Galaxy A36.
The company had only just launched its beta program for the device last week, and now it is already delivering the second test build, showing how quickly Samsung is moving to stabilize the software before the full public release.
The update, identified by build number A366EXXU4ZYI7, is currently being distributed in India as the first market to receive it. Weighing in at 440.92MB, the package is relatively small for a system upgrade, but it carries notable fixes and improvements that many Galaxy A36 users had been waiting for. Alongside the new software build, Samsung has also bundled the September 2025 Android security patch, addressing a broad set of vulnerabilities and tightening device protection against potential exploits.
According to the official changelog, this version addresses four key bugs that were affecting user experience. Among the most important are the fix for the Camera crash in Portrait mode, which had been frustrating photography enthusiasts, and a correction for the unexpected device reboot issue that occurred after manually adjusting the system clock. Samsung also solved a persistent Camera ANR (App Not Responding) problem and patched an AUT issue related to the system process com.samsung.android.dsms. Together, these improvements should make daily performance smoother and more reliable.
To install the update, users in India can head to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Samsung has not confirmed exact dates for other countries yet, but given its usual rollout strategy, expansion to additional regions is expected in the coming hours or days. This fast-paced release schedule underlines the brand’s commitment to bringing cutting-edge Android 16 features and One UI refinements even to its non-flagship devices.
The Galaxy A36 has been a popular mid-tier phone thanks to its balanced specs and competitive price, and timely updates like this help keep it relevant. If the beta testing phase continues without major issues, Samsung could deliver the stable One UI 8.0 update to the A36 well ahead of schedule, giving its users access to Android 16 innovations faster than many competitors in the same price bracket.
