Six years of updates for a $100 phone? That’s the promise with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A07, the next entry in its ultra-budget A0 series.
Sitting at the very bottom of Samsung’s phone lineup, the A07 aims to deliver basic performance at the lowest possible price, making it a contender for anyone on a tight budget or looking for a backup device.
The Galaxy A07 4G is expected to officially launch soon, following last year’s A06 release schedule. Leaks have revealed almost everything – from specs to design. At around $100, don’t expect cutting-edge features, but Samsung is giving it a notable perk: six years of software support. That means Android updates up to version 21 and ongoing security patches, though realistically, its modest hardware might struggle to keep up over that many years.
Inside, the phone is rumored to run on a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, offering just enough power for everyday tasks and light gaming. The display will likely remain unchanged from its predecessor: a 6.7-inch PLS LCD with HD+ resolution (1600×720) and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Camera specs also look familiar – a 50MP main lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter.
Other features include a large 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging, dual SIM support, microSD expansion, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 5, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and IP54 dust and splash resistance. The A07 will reportedly be available in Green, Dark Gray, and Silver/White. A minor design change moves the cameras into a vertical bar, and the phone may be slimmer than last year’s model.
As with previous A0 models, US buyers shouldn’t expect it to appear in Samsung’s official store. However, history suggests unlocked international versions may land on Amazon and Walmart, often compatible with major carriers like T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon – but always check network band support before buying.
If you’re open to alternatives, the Moto G (2025) offers better performance for a small price bump and is frequently discounted. But for sheer affordability and long-term updates, the Galaxy A07 could be an appealing no-frills option.
