Samsung Adds Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 to Certified Re-Newed Program

Samsung has just made a big move for foldable fans – you can now buy Certified Re-Newed versions of its latest foldables directly from the company.

For the first time, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are part of Samsung’s official refurbished lineup, offering buyers a more affordable way to experience premium foldable tech without paying full retail price.

The Certified Re-Newed program ensures every device is inspected by Samsung’s own technicians, repaired with 100% genuine parts if needed, and equipped with a brand-new certified battery. Each unit comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty, giving you the same after-sales confidence as a brand-new phone.

Previously limited to Galaxy S series and other non-foldables, the program’s expansion to the Z series opens the door to one of Samsung’s most expensive categories at lower prices. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 starts at $649 for 256GB and $699 for 512GB in Graphite, while the Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes in Phantom Black starting at $1,169 for 256GB or $1,219 for 512GB – savings of several hundred dollars compared to new models.

This move signals Samsung’s growing trust in the durability of its newer foldable designs. In the U.S., it’s a unique offering; Apple’s refurb store sells certified iPhones and iPads, but no foldables since Apple hasn’t made one yet. While even the discounted foldables remain premium-priced, the program gives curious buyers a safer, more affordable way to try out the technology without the full financial leap.
