Ryan Reynolds Brings Deadpool to Avengers: Doomsday

Ryan Reynolds will officially bring Deadpool into Avengers: Doomsday, marking another wild crossover in Marvel’s ongoing multiverse saga. The Merc with a Mouth, who finally joined the MCU in Deadpool & Wolverine, will now crash the party alongside an already massive cast.

But before anyone gets too excited, reports suggest fans shouldn’t expect Deadpool to become a full-time Avenger just yet.

Reynolds’ inclusion isn’t exactly a shock. Deadpool’s last outing made over a billion dollars, and Marvel isn’t about to leave their biggest R-rated cash cow sitting on the sidelines while their lineup struggles to keep audiences hooked. Still, some fans see his addition less as creative storytelling and more as Marvel scrambling to revive a franchise that feels weighed down by endless cameos and overstuffed casts.

Avengers: Doomsday, set to release December 18, 2026, is already a character jam. Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Florence Pugh’s Yelena, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Channing Tatum’s Gambit, and rumors of Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez all join the fight. Throw in whispers of Robert Downey Jr. returning as Doctor Doom and the long-awaited Fantastic Four debut, and the movie looks less like a story and more like a celebrity roll call.

Deadpool himself has always dreamed of joining the Avengers, even if it was a running gag in his own movies. Now, thanks to the multiverse, he’ll get to stand alongside Thor, maybe clash with Doctor Doom, and possibly meet characters Marvel has been saving for this very event. Just don’t expect the studio to leave many surprises unspoiled – leaks and early reveals have already made fans wonder if the magic of discovering these moments in theaters is gone.

Whether this ends up being the desperate stunt some fans fear or the chaotic fun others hope for, one thing’s certain: Deadpool is officially in the Avengers sandbox now, and that alone will guarantee Marvel plenty of attention.
