The Redmi K90 is starting to generate buzz after what appears to be a certification leak in China, hinting at the company’s next flagship move. Last year’s Redmi K80 hit the market in November, and now all signs point to its successor arriving sooner rather than later.

According to information surfacing from China’s 3C database, a model number 2510DRK44C believed to be the K90 has been spotted, sparking plenty of speculation.

If the listing is genuine, the Redmi K90 will support blazing-fast 100W wired charging, and what’s more, the package is expected to include a matching 100W charger – something many brands have stopped providing. That detail alone could give Redmi an edge with buyers who still value in-box accessories.

Hardware expectations are heating up as well. The standard K90 model is rumored to debut with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This version isn’t to be confused with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 – the Elite is positioned as the top performer, while the 8 Gen 5 sits slightly below it, but still delivers flagship-class performance. The distinction is subtle and has confused many fans, but essentially the Gen 5 is a balanced high-end option while the Elite targets raw power.

The K90 Pro, meanwhile, is shaping up to be even more ambitious. Reports suggest it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, alongside a 50MP periscope telephoto camera – a first for the Redmi K Pro series. This move signals that Xiaomi wants the Pro variant to directly compete with more premium devices from rivals, not just undercut them. Adding to the premium flavor, the K90 Pro is said to adopt a flat 2K resolution display, putting it in the same conversation as some of the best flagships currently available.

Another interesting angle is the growing trend away from curved-edge displays. Many users are calling for flat panels paired with practical resolutions like 1200p for smaller flagships and 1440p or higher for larger ones. With the K90 line reportedly using a flat 2K display on the Pro, Redmi seems to be listening closely to its community feedback. If these rumors hold true, the K90 family won’t just be incremental updates – they’ll represent a carefully tuned response to what users have been asking for: faster charging, powerful chipsets, meaningful camera upgrades, and more practical design choices.
