The Redmi 15C 5G has officially rolled out across several European markets, arriving not just in Poland but also in France, Spain, and Hungary.

Xiaomi’s strategy is clear: take the affordable Redmi 15C formula and update the essentials to make it 5G-ready, while keeping its trademark massive battery and low price point.

The biggest shift is inside the phone. The older Helio G81 Ultra from the 4G model has been swapped for MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset. Built on a more efficient 6nm process, it brings a more modern CPU layout with two Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.4GHz, paired with six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, which should deliver smoother performance for casual gaming and daily use compared to the aging 12nm Helio silicon.

Memory options remain relatively modest. Buyers can choose between 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM with either 128GB or 256GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. This decision has sparked some criticism, as eMMC is a slower and older standard compared to UFS 2.2, which many competing phones in this range already offer. Still, Xiaomi included a dedicated microSD slot, so expanding storage is simple, even if overall speed might not impress power users.

The dimensions have grown slightly: 173.2 x 81.0 x 8.2mm and 211g compared to 171.6 x 79.5 x 8.0mm and 205g for the 4G version. Despite the increased weight, the screen remains unchanged – a large 6.9-inch LCD with 720p+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The phone keeps its giant 6,000mAh battery, paired with 33W wired charging support, though buyers should note that no charger is included in the box. Xiaomi also touts IP64 protection, meaning dust resistance and splash protection, though it’s far from full waterproofing.

On the camera side, the Redmi 15C 5G keeps things basic but practical: a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture on the back capable of 1080p video at 30fps, and an 8MP selfie camera in a teardrop notch with similar recording support. Not groundbreaking, but adequate for social media and casual snaps.

One of the surprises here is the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio, features disappearing from many phones in 2025. Connectivity options are solid: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and multi-system GNSS for navigation. NFC support varies by region, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader provides security.

Pricing is aimed squarely at the budget crowd. In Spain, the 4/128GB model starts at €180, while the 4/256GB version goes for €200. In France, it’s slightly higher at €183 and €213, respectively. Poland sees the phone at around PLN 700, and Hungary lists it at HUF 60,000 and HUF 70,000. For context, the Redmi 15C 4G sits at around €150 in Spain but often gets discounted to €130, making the 5G premium roughly €30-50 depending on storage.

Whether the Redmi 15C 5G is worth it depends on perspective. For some, the leap to 5G and Dimensity’s efficiency will be enough reason to buy. For others, the insistence on just 4GB RAM and eMMC storage feels like Xiaomi cutting corners, making the phone less future-proof. Alternatives such as the Redmi 15 or even other budget competitors around €130–150 might deliver a more balanced package.
