Realme is preparing to shake up the premium smartphone market once again with its upcoming GT 8 Pro, and the company has started dropping key details ahead of launch. Scheduled for an October debut in China, followed by a broader global release before the year ends, the GT 8 Pro is positioning itself as a performance powerhouse with premium display technology and a surprisingly competitive price point.
One of the standout features officially confirmed is the display. 
The Realme GT 8 Pro will use a QHD-resolution BOE Q10+ panel, often mistakenly marketed as 2K. This screen promises exceptional sharpness and clarity, enhanced by a silky-smooth 144Hz refresh rate that should make both everyday navigation and gaming experiences fluid and immersive. Realme is also emphasizing improved brightness levels for outdoor visibility and upgraded eye protection features to reduce strain during extended use.
Xu Qi Chase, Realme’s Vice President, recently revealed the smartphone’s front design. The GT 8 Pro will sport a flat display with slim, symmetrical bezels, giving it a modern, balanced look while maximizing screen real estate. This flat-panel choice also signals Realme’s intent to appeal to users who prefer a practical, glare-free display over aggressive curves.
Under the hood, the GT 8 series will be powered by Qualcomm’s cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ensuring top-tier performance for multitasking, gaming, and demanding applications. On the software side, Realme UI 7.0 will come preloaded, promising a smoother interface with new features that enhance gaming interactivity and system responsiveness.
Perhaps most enticing is Realme’s pricing strategy. Chase confirmed that the GT 8 series will arrive priced below CNY 5,000 (around $700), an aggressive move considering the hardware on offer. This positions the phone to compete directly with flagships from rivals like OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Samsung while maintaining Realme’s reputation for offering strong value for money.
