PUBG Ends Support for PS4 and Xbox One, Moving to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2025

PUBG Studios has officially announced that it will no longer support the PS4 and Xbox One versions of PUBG, focusing on the current-generation PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms starting in November 2025. The transition was highlighted in the studio’s 2025 roadmap, aiming to ensure a smoother and more stable gameplay environment for players on next-gen consoles.

According to the PUBG website, this change is a necessary step to “provide our players with a more stable gameplay environment on console” and to enhance the experience with future updates.

“Starting November 13, 2025, PUBG Console will be supported only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S,” the statement reads.

The announcement acknowledged the sentimental value for PS4 and Xbox One players who have enjoyed PUBG over the years, saying, “It weighs heavily on us to deliver this news… We are deeply grateful for every moment you’ve spent with us over the past eight years.” The decision was made after careful consideration, with a focus on the game’s long-term future.

For those who own accounts on PS4 or Xbox One, PUBG will preserve all data, and no separate transfer process will be necessary. When these players switch to a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S, they can simply log in to resume their progress. However, PS4 players will need to download the native PS5 version of the game, as the PS4 version will not be playable on the new console.

Once the transition is complete, players on PS5 will enjoy a 1440p resolution at 60FPS, with PS5 Pro users experiencing 4K/60FPS gameplay. On Xbox Series S, players can choose between 1080p/60FPS and 1440p/30FPS modes, while Xbox Series X will offer 4K/60FPS for an optimal experience.
