Description

The Intel Core i7-4790 is a Haswell desktop processor designed for Socket H3 LGA-1150 systems. It features 4 cores, 8MB L3 cache, and 4 x 256KB L2 cache to help keep frequently accessed data close for responsive performance in demanding applications. Built on a 22nm process with an 84W design, it also includes Intel Turbo Boost for extra speed when workloads increase. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 and Intel Quick Sync Video add onboard display support and faster media handling. This processor is compatible with Z87 and Z97 motherboards, though some Z87 boards may require a BIOS update. It is not compatible with Intel motherboards.
