Hard drives are still a sensible choice for large media collections, backups and home storage. They may not be as quick as SSDs, but they remain one of the cheapest ways to keep terabytes of files close at hand.
Think about where the drive will live: inside a desktop, in an external enclosure or in a NAS that runs around the clock. The right drive is usually the one built for that job, not simply the one with the biggest number on the box.
