Poco has unveiled its latest budget contender in India – the Poco M7 Plus 5G – and it’s making waves with a rare combination of a massive battery and a surprisingly slim body. Building on the M6 Plus from August 2024, the new model packs a 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 33W fast charging and 18W reverse charging, yet still measures only 8.4 mm thick, making it the slimmest phone of its kind.
The M7 Plus sports a 6.9-inch Full HD+ LCD with a rapid 144Hz refresh rate, 550 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. A punch-hole cutout houses an 8MP selfie camera, while the rear features a 50MP main sensor accompanied by an as-yet undisclosed secondary camera. 
AI tools like AI Dynamic Shot, AI Eraser, and AI Sky replacement aim to make photography more fun and flexible.
Under the hood, you’ll find the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, plus a microSD slot supporting expansion up to 2TB. The phone runs Android 15-based HyperOS and comes with two years of OS updates and four years of security patches. Google Gemini integration is also baked in.
The device includes extras like IP64 water and dust resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, IR blaster, and a manageable weight of 217g. Available in Aqua Blue, Carbon Black, and Chrome Silver, pricing starts at INR 13,999 ($160) for the 6GB/128GB model, with the 8GB/128GB variant at INR 14,999 ($170). Sales in India begin August 19. For those chasing big battery life without the bulk, this might be the budget phone to beat.
