Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions for August 2025, and it’s shaping up to be a great month for subscribers. The Extra and Premium tiers will be treated to some blockbuster titles like Mortal Kombat 1 and Marvel’s Spider-Man, along with a few indie gems and surprises. 
Whether you’re into fighting games, superheroes, or hidden indie treasures, there’s something for everyone.
The big headline titles include Mortal Kombat 1, the rebooted entry from NetherRealm Studios, and Insomniac’s critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man. The latter is making a return to the service after it was removed from the catalog in 2023. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will also gain access to some PlayStation 1 classics, namely Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
On the indie side, there’s Harold Halibut, a slow-paced, story-driven game worth checking out, Indika, a unique game that only takes a few hours to finish, and the charmingly quirky Unicorn Overlord. Sword of the Sea, a relaxing and atmospheric adventure, will be available for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members from day one.
Rounding out the offerings are Earth Defense Force 6, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, and Coral Island, making this a very well-rounded month of additions. Get ready to dive into these games starting August 19!
