Pixel 10 Series: What to Expect from Google’s Latest Flagship Phones

The Pixel 10 series is expected to maintain reasonable pricing in a rapidly changing smartphone market. After years of relatively stable high-end smartphone prices, many global brands have started pushing flagship models to higher price points due to macroeconomic shifts and the desire for greater profit margins.

However, Google seems to be taking a different route, with no intention of overcharging for this year’s Pixel 10 lineup, which includes the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold.

The pricing structure of the Pixel 10 family is set to mirror that of the Pixel 9 series. Earlier rumors pointed to similar pricing in both Europe and the US, and now, India seems to be following the same trend. According to recent reports, the Pixel 10 ‘vanilla’ model with 256GB storage will be priced at ₹79,999, which is roughly $910. This aligns with the Pixel 9’s 256GB price when it launched in India in August 2024.

The Pixel 10 Pro is expected to be priced at ₹109,999, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL will go for ₹124,999, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will reportedly start at ₹172,999. Interestingly, these are the same price points the Pixel 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9 Pro Fold debuted at last year. This suggests that Google is sticking to its pricing strategy for its flagship models.

In the US, the Pixel 10 is expected to start at $799, the Pixel 10 Pro at $999, the Pixel 10 Pro XL at $1,199, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold at $1,799. These prices are for the entry-level variants, with the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro likely to come with 128GB of storage, while the 10 Pro XL and 10 Pro Fold will have at least 256GB of storage.

If you’re trying to decide which model to buy, the regular Pixel 10 offers great value for money. It comes with the same powerful Google Tensor G5 processor as the Pro models, a sleek design, and an additional telephoto camera that enhances its rear camera system. However, it might fall short on the ultra-wide-angle lens, which is rumored to have a reduced resolution of 12 megapixels (down from 48MP in the Pixel 9).

The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL don’t offer groundbreaking changes compared to their predecessors, but they do feature better battery life and additional processing power. They also include the same magnetic wireless charging accessories as the non-Pro Pixel 10. These devices refine the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.

As for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, anticipation is high, but recent rumors suggest a potential delay, with a pre-order date set for August 21, just a day after Google’s big launch event. However, no official confirmation has been given about the actual shipping date, so don’t get too excited just yet.
