Phasmophobia Revamp Brings Grafton Farmhouse Back to Life – and Death

Phasmophobia’s eerie world just got creepier – and more polished – with the long-awaited revamp of the fan-favorite Grafton Farmhouse map, now live across all platforms.

2025 has been a landmark year for Kinetic Games, with a reworked in-game journal, the chilling overhaul of Bleasdale Farmhouse, and now a Grafton that feels more distinct than ever.

Art director Corey J. Dixon explained that the goal behind these map reworks is authenticity. Early maps relied on asset packs, making them easy to replicate, so the team set out to rebuild environments from scratch. For Grafton, the aim was contrast: where Bleasdale became grand and mansion-like, Grafton was stripped down, decayed, and soaked in ghost-hunting atmosphere. The result is two farmhouses that finally feel unique.

Dixon also teased future updates, including a careful refresh of Tanglewood, ensuring the charm of smaller maps remains while offering new details for long-time players. The team balances fan demands for both intimate and expansive maps, weighing development time against community preferences.

Next up is Nell’s Diner – a retro American-inspired small map designed for tight, suspenseful investigations. Its familiar setting, broken into distinct playable spaces, aims to make players shiver the next time they stop at a late-night diner in real life.

Beyond maps, Kinetic is leaning into environmental storytelling, weaving subtle lore into rooms and props. These quiet details give players reason to look twice and speculate about past tragedies. A future lore update will deepen this narrative approach, further transforming Phasmophobia into a living, interconnected ghost-hunting world.

Looking ahead, the long-term vision points to a 1.0 release tied to the ambitious Horror 2.0 update in 2026, though Dixon stressed that development won’t end there. Even talk of a sequel isn’t off the table, and platforms like the Nintendo Switch 2 remain possibilities.

Meanwhile, a movie adaptation in partnership with Blumhouse Films is in the works. Dixon promised it will be unmistakably Phasmophobia, not just another generic ghost flick, with the studio working closely with the game’s creators to capture its tense, unpredictable essence.

For now, ghosthunters can explore the ruined halls of the new Grafton Farmhouse – and wonder what else lurks on the roadmap as spooky season draws near.
