After Apple’s high-profile iPhone 17 announcement, it didn’t take long for rivals to step into the spotlight.
Oppo Find X9 and X9 Pro teased with huge batteries, thin bezels, and bold camera upgrades
Oppo, determined to remind tech enthusiasts that innovation isn’t limited to Cupertino, has now teased its upcoming Find X9 and Find X9 Pro – and the first wave of official details already paints a picture of two very serious contenders in the flagship space.

The Find X9 Pro will boast a massive 7,500mAh battery, paired with a slim 8.25mm body – impressive considering the size of its 6.78-inch display. Its sibling, the Find X9, won’t lag far behind with a 7,025mAh cell, 7.99mm thickness, and a slightly more compact 6.69-inch screen. Weight will also vary: 224g for the Pro versus 203g for the standard edition. Clearly, Oppo is positioning these devices as powerhouses capable of keeping up with intensive daily use without forcing users to carry a brick.

Design-wise, Oppo is betting on refinement. Both models will adopt flat displays with ultra-thin, uniform bezels rumored to measure just 1.1mm – a feat even Apple has struggled to match. The company is also using what it calls “cold carving” technology, debuting a new hero color option dubbed Titanium. Though the chassis material is almost certainly aluminum, Oppo seems keen on presenting a premium, futuristic look. The display will feature advanced eye protection modes, including one tailored to reduce motion sickness – a surprising but welcome detail for those sensitive to prolonged screen usage.

Under the hood, the Find X9 series will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, paired with 80W fast charging and an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint reader (a shift from the optical sensors used in the previous Find X8 generation). Both models will run ColorOS 16, which offers a clever trick: improved compatibility with Apple devices. In fact, Oppo demonstrated AirPods 4 working seamlessly with a Find X9, signaling an intent to appeal not just to Android loyalists but also to Apple users curious about crossing over.

Photography is another arena where Oppo is raising the stakes. The Find X9 will feature a trio of 50MP lenses, while the Pro version introduces a bold 200MP periscope camera – a specification that suggests Oppo intends to rival or even surpass Samsung’s Galaxy Ultra line in zoom performance. Video recording capabilities are also set to improve, with leaks hinting at expanded support for professional-grade modes like LOG, which could make the series appealing to content creators.

Of course, not everything is confirmed. Zhou Yibao, Oppo’s executive behind the teasers, has already downplayed the accuracy of leaked renders, notably obscuring the rear camera island in official teasers. Still, if the October launch timeline holds true, buyers won’t have long to wait. The bigger question remains whether Oppo will avoid repeating past mistakes by restricting the global rollout of its flagship “Ultra” models to China alone. With battery life, design, and camera hardware this ambitious, keeping the X9 family out of key markets would only hand easy wins to Apple and Samsung.

In short, the Oppo Find X9 and X9 Pro are shaping up to be bold statements: big batteries, thinner bezels, cutting-edge displays, and cameras designed to challenge the industry’s best. Whether Oppo manages to capitalize on this momentum with a global release may ultimately determine whether the Find X9 is remembered as a true flagship killer or just another ambitious regional exclusive.
