Oppo has expanded its Find X9 lineup in India with a splash of bold colour, introducing the new Velvet Red variant just days after the series first went on sale. While the original launch featured more conventional shades, Oppo says that rapidly rising consumer interest for a “more expressive” premium option pushed the company to accelerate the arrival of this new finish.

The Find X9 Velvet Red edition lands exclusively in a 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, priced at INR 74,999. Sales begin on December 8 across Oppo’s online store, Flipkart and authorised offline retailers. Velvet Red, he adds, was created to give users “a bold, instantly recognisable way” to personalise the X9 – something Oppo clearly sees as a differentiator in a competitive premium segment.
With the Velvet Red model carrying identical features to its siblings, buyers still get the same high-resolution display, strong performance hardware and camera system that anchor the Find X9 series. For users seeking even more horsepower, Oppo continues to offer the Find X9 Pro in Silk White and Titanium Charcoal with a single 16GB/512GB configuration, priced at INR 109,999. The Pro variant remains the brand’s top-tier showcase, positioned against other ultra-premium devices with its upgraded optics and enhanced processing capabilities.
Still, reactions from smartphone enthusiasts online show a mix of excitement and scepticism. Some praise the Find X9’s balanced price-to-performance ratio in certain markets, while others view the Velvet Red launch as a predictable marketing push for a phone they already consider pricey. But even those critics acknowledge that a more vibrant colour option appeals to buyers looking for something outside the typical black-and-grey palette – especially when many users end up covering their devices with protective cases anyway.
For now, early availability of the Velvet Red variant gives Oppo another talking point as the Find X9 series continues to expand globally.
