The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is shaping up to be one of next year’s most exciting smartphones, and fresh leaks suggest its camera could stir up some rivalry. According to reliable Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, Oppo’s flagship will feature a new 200 MP main camera powered by a Sony sensor with a 1/1.1-inch type size. 
While not a full 1-inch sensor, it comes very close, promising outstanding detail and light capture.
Interestingly, Samsung is also rumored to be using the exact same Sony sensor in its upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. This sets up an intriguing scenario where two of 2025’s biggest flagships could launch with nearly identical main camera hardware, sparking direct comparisons between Oppo and Samsung’s image processing and software tricks.
Of course, there’s a twist: Oppo may restrict sales of the Find X9 Ultra to China, limiting global competition. Samsung, meanwhile, continues to hold only a tiny share in China, meaning the two giants might not clash head-to-head in most markets despite sharing the same hardware.
As for timing, the Find X9 Ultra is expected to debut shortly after the Chinese New Year on February 17. Reports suggest it might arrive earlier than the Find X8 Ultra, which launched on April 10 last year, making a March unveiling highly likely.
