Oppo is preparing for a major showcase on October 16 in China with the official debut of its new flagship line, the Find X9 series. For the first time, we’ve gotten a clear live look at both the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, and it’s obvious Oppo is aiming for a bold visual refresh compared to last year’s Find X8 lineup. The most noticeable change is the redesigned square-shaped camera island, an aesthetic that instantly recalls recent OnePlus models like the 13T and 13s.

This similarity isn’t accidental – Oppo and OnePlus share development DNA – but it has already sparked debate among fans who either appreciate the streamlined design or criticize its lack of originality.

The Find X9 family will come in three finishes: Matte Titanium, Frost White, and Matte Black. Interestingly, enthusiasts online are already wishing for a bold red variant, with some pointing out that it would perfectly complement Oppo’s premium branding. Beyond the colors, the compact size of the camera bump has drawn attention, as it manages to house large imaging sensors without overwhelming the phone’s back panel.

Speaking of cameras, the Find X9 Pro is where Oppo is putting its strongest focus. It will carry a triple-lens array, highlighted by a massive 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 periscope zoom lens. Alongside that, the Pro version will feature a 50MP LYT-828 main sensor, a 50MP JN5 ultra-wide, and a fourth color spectrum sensor. The Hasselblad branding engraved next to the cameras confirms Oppo’s ongoing collaboration for advanced color tuning and a professional-grade photographic experience. The standard Find X9 will feature the same design language but with a slightly more modest imaging package.

Display sizes also separate the two variants: the regular Find X9 will sport a 6.59-inch screen, while the Pro moves up to a 6.78-inch panel with slimmer bezels. Both models will be powered by MediaTek’s brand-new Dimensity 9500 chipset, coupled with Oppo’s proprietary Trinity Engine for optimization. Out of the box, the phones will run ColorOS 16, promising smoother multitasking, extended battery life, and better integration with AI-powered features. Pete Lau, Oppo’s CPO, has already confirmed that the Find X9 series won’t stay limited to China – the devices are slated for a global launch, though Oppo has yet to provide an exact release date. This global rollout signals Oppo’s intent to compete directly with rivals like Samsung’s Galaxy S-series and Xiaomi’s high-end flagships.

While some fans are praising Oppo’s boldness, others remain skeptical about the similarities with OnePlus devices and the placement of the periscope lens, which some think looks slightly off-center. Still, the Find X9 series appears to be Oppo’s strongest statement yet in the premium smartphone race of 2025. Between the high-resolution cameras, the cutting-edge MediaTek silicon, and Hasselblad’s color science, Oppo is betting big on photography and performance to win over tech enthusiasts worldwide.
