OnePlus is preparing a very different kind of battery monster for its home market, and it goes by the name OnePlus Ace 6T.
Ahead of the official launch in China on December 3, the company has already confirmed that the new phone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, pairing flagship performance with an unusually large battery for a mainstream device.
The headline spec is the 8300 mAh battery, a capacity that pushes the Ace 6T into tablet territory. According to OnePlus, this huge cell will be paired with 100 W wired fast charging, promising long endurance without forcing users to stay tethered to a charger. If these numbers hold up in real life, this could be one of the rare phones that comfortably lasts two days for heavy users and even longer for more casual owners who mostly message, browse and watch short video.
A listing on the China Telecom database fills in the rest of the picture. The OnePlus Ace 6T is said to feature a 6.83 inch AMOLED panel with a 2800 by 1272 pixel resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 165 hertz. That combination suggests a display tuned for gaming and fast scrolling, with sharp detail and smooth animations during competitive titles or high speed social feeds. At the same time, the very tall aspect ratio will not be to everyone's taste, and some users are already complaining that the phone looks too stretched compared with more traditional flagships.
On the camera side, the Ace 6T keeps things focused and practical instead of chasing huge sensor counts. The rear module reportedly combines a 50 megapixel main camera with optical stabilisation for clearer low light shots and an 8 megapixel ultra wide unit for landscapes, interiors and group photos. On the front, a 16 megapixel selfie camera sits in a centered punch hole, which should be more than enough for social media, video calls and face filtering apps even if it does not push extreme resolution numbers.
The leak also mentions that the OnePlus Ace 6T will ship with configurations of up to 16 gigabytes of RAM and an impressive 1 terabyte of internal storage, putting it firmly in enthusiast territory. That much memory and storage means room for heavy games, 4K video clips and a whole library of apps without constant cleaning. However, prospective international buyers should keep expectations in check. Historically, the Ace line has been adapted into slightly different global models, and there is already speculation that any international variant might top out at 512 gigabytes of storage and offer a smaller battery to hit weight targets and comply with regional design priorities.
The debate around the design has already started. Fans of compact phones and more classic aspect ratios argue that the tall front makes the Ace 6T awkward to use in one hand and harder to slip into a pocket, calling it dead on arrival for their personal use. Others counter that brands like Apple have used similarly tall layouts for years without the same level of criticism, pointing out that the extra vertical space can actually be useful for timelines, split screen and gaming interfaces.
Even so, the combination of Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, ultra high refresh AMOLED display and a huge 8300 mAh battery makes the OnePlus Ace 6T one of the most intriguing performance phones of the season in China. With rivals such as Honor, Xiaomi and the many brands under the BBK umbrella racing to squeeze more endurance and power into slimmer frames, this device shows how aggressively OnePlus is willing to push capacity and charging technology to stand out in a crowded premium market. Whether or not a slightly toned down twin appears on the global stage, the Ace 6T sets a clear signal that battery life and raw performance remain at the heart of the OnePlus strategy.
