The upcoming Nubia Air might look like a Pixel 10, but don’t be fooled-it’s not what it seems. The new Nubia device, expected to launch on August 20, comes with a distinctive camera bar on the back that will immediately remind you of Google’s flagship.
Though its design is strikingly similar to the Pixel 10, this sleek mid-range phone packs its own set of unique features.
For context, Google’s Pixel 10 Pro was one of the most anticipated smartphones this year, with much of the excitement revolving around its redesigned camera bar. But as much as people are talking about the Pixel’s innovations, it turns out other brands, like Nubia, have also been inspired by this unique design trend.
Industry insider Evan Blass recently leaked images of the Nubia Air, showcasing a phone that combines high-end aesthetics with more modest specs. The Nubia Air features a large 6.78-inch OLED display and three cameras housed in a horizontal bar, similar to the Pixel’s camera setup. However, unlike the Leica branding we often see on flagship devices, the Nubia Air carries a red dot next to its cameras-further proof that it’s not trying to mimic the Pixel exactly.
This thin, stylish device weighs only 172 grams and measures at 164.17 mm x 76.57 mm x 6.7 mm, making it quite slim compared to other smartphones in its range. While the Nubia Air won’t be a flagship device in terms of performance, it offers decent specifications for those who don’t need the best of the best.
The Nubia Air is powered by the Unisoc T8300 octa-core chipset, which is built on a 6nm process. It’s a mid-range 5G processor with an octa-core CPU (2x Cortex-A78, 6x Cortex-A55) and a Mali-G57 GPU. This chipset supports FHD+ displays at 120Hz, dual 5G SIM, and satellite communication. In terms of RAM and storage, it comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, while a 5,000 mAh battery ensures you won’t run out of power quickly.
As for the cameras, there are four in total, including a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP sensor (likely for depth or macro shots), and a 0.08 MP camera (which might be purely for aesthetics). The selfie camera is a 20 MP unit, which should offer decent performance for most users. However, the 2 MP camera is likely the least useful, so don’t expect too much from it.
If you’re not a heavy mobile photography enthusiast and don’t need top-tier performance, the Nubia Air might be a solid choice for a large, thin phone that doesn’t break the bank. With a competitive price point and features that make it look like a Pixel, this could be the perfect Android device for those who just want something that looks premium without the premium price tag.
