Motorola is preparing to expand its portfolio with what could be one of its sleekest and most ambitious models yet. The Moto X70 Air, recently teased in China, may soon reach global markets under the name Motorola Edge 70.

This information comes from a fresh leak that not only hints at the rebranding but also unveils striking color options and a few notable design cues.

The leaked images showcase the phone in two official Pantone shades – Gadget Gray and Lily Pad. Each version carries accented touches around the camera rings and a dedicated Moto AI button, reinforcing Motorola’s intention to blend style with function. The green/orange combination in Lily Pad mirrors the teaser from China, while an earlier Evan Blass leak hinted at a darker green version with lime accents, suggesting a possible third variant designed to emphasize the tagline, “impossibly thin and incredibly tough.”

Beyond looks, the Motorola Edge 70 seems positioned as more than just another mid-ranger. According to YTECHB, the device is expected to carry a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and 1.0µm pixels, paired with a 120° ultra-wide camera. Audio should get a boost as well with Dolby Atmos-certified speakers. And then there’s the Moto AI key, pointing at Motorola’s growing push into AI-enhanced smartphone features.

Speculation among enthusiasts remains high. Some believe this could in fact be an Edge 70 Pro or Ultra variant, given that metal frames and high-end chipsets are hinted at. Others wonder whether certain features have been sacrificed to achieve the phone’s thin profile – particularly the telephoto lens, the curved display of previous models, or the 5,200mAh battery size seen in the Edge 60. The leaked images suggest a flat display, but questions about the chipset, battery capacity, and weight still linger. In short, Motorola has generated plenty of curiosity, positioning the Edge 70 as a conversation starter in a market where slimness often comes with compromises.

What’s certain is that Motorola is betting big on design without fully abandoning substance. With multiple color variants, a focus on AI integration, and the promise of serious camera hardware, the Edge 70 could either become one of the year’s most stylish all-rounders or leave fans wishing it had prioritized function over form. For now, all eyes are on Motorola to see whether “impossibly thin” can also mean impressively complete.
