MAXSUN Brings Back the Back-Slot GPU With Terminator B850 BKB WiFi for AMD AM5

MAXSUN has returned to the spotlight with another daring and creative design: the Terminator B850 BKB WiFi motherboard. This new addition marks the company’s first AMD AM5 board that resurrects the rare and intriguing back-slot GPU concept – an approach that flips the traditional GPU placement on its head.

Instead of mounting your graphics card on the front of the motherboard, the Terminator B850 BKB positions it at the back, completely eliminating the need for bulky and unstable PCIe riser cables. It’s a bold engineering move that aims to simplify small-form-factor (SFF) builds while enhancing airflow and signal integrity.

The idea isn’t entirely new – MAXSUN previously introduced the same concept with its Terminator B760 BKB D5 motherboard for Intel users. MAXSUN proudly claims that this layout ensures stronger signal stability and lower electromagnetic interference compared to riser-based configurations. Although MAXSUN has not yet published the official product page, several confirmed specs have already surfaced through the company’s Weibo teasers and tech insiders. The Terminator B850 BKB WiFi supports up to 96 GB of DDR5 memory across two DIMM slots, providing plenty of headroom for gaming and productivity. It’s also equipped with a PCIe x4 slot and dual M.2 connectors (one on the front, one on the back), ensuring flexible SSD configurations. Storage connectivity is slightly pared down compared to the Intel-based B760 variant, with only two SATA ports instead of four, but this decision seems intentional to preserve the compact layout.

In terms of connectivity, users will find a well-equipped I/O panel with at least six USB ports, display outputs for integrated graphics, triple audio jacks, and likely a USB Type-C port. The built-in WiFi adapter provides modern wireless support, though MAXSUN has not yet confirmed its exact version.
