Lost Soul Aside PS5 vs PC: Stability Over Resolution in Final Comparison
A fresh analysis by ElAnalistaDeBits places the PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro versions side by side, revealing a story that is less about visual spectacle and more about compromise and stability.

On the base PS5, the game’s Performance Mode aims for 60 frames per second but only manages it by dynamically lowering resolution to a surprising degree – sometimes dropping as far down as 635p, with an upper bound of 1189p. The PS5 Pro shows a slight improvement, ranging from 1080p to 1398p, but the step up is not as dramatic as players might expect. In fact, the graphical differences between the two consoles are relatively minimal when judged on detail and texture quality. For a title that has been in development for nearly a decade, the reliance on such low resolutions is raising eyebrows, especially since the art direction itself feels closer to last generation standards.

Interestingly, the stability of the console versions stands in stark contrast to the PC release. Before its recent patch, the PC build was plagued with cutscene stutter and uneven frame pacing. Console players, on the other hand, enjoy smoother gameplay without those immersion-breaking hitches. The patch has improved things, but the fact remains that consoles offer the more consistent experience out of the box, even if clarity takes a noticeable hit.

Fans are divided. Some lament that a game with such a long gestation period delivers visuals that feel dated, particularly given its full-price tag. Others argue that beneath the technical blemishes lies a solid action combat system – flashy, responsive, and clearly inspired by genre heavyweights like Devil May Cry. The combat flow encourages experimentation and player expression, reminding us why the project caught attention in the first place, back when it was the work of a single developer.

In the end, Lost Soul Aside is a strange paradox: a technically underwhelming package that nevertheless hides moments of brilliance in gameplay. For those willing to look past its soft image quality and thin narrative, there’s an enjoyable action core to be found. Whether that’s enough to justify the asking price is another debate entirely.
