The iQOO 15 has surfaced online ahead of its official launch, revealing more than just a glimpse of its design and specs – it’s offering an early look at what could be one of the most performance-focused smartphones of the year. Set to debut on October 20 in Shenzhen, China, the iQOO 15 continues the brand’s tradition of blending racing-inspired aesthetics with cutting-edge hardware.
However, this time, there’s a twist that’s sparked debate among fans: a downgrade in charging speed, balanced by a massive battery upgrade and refined engineering choices.
In a video posted by AnTuTu on Weibo, the unboxing of the iQOO 15’s Legend Edition shows off a striking package. The phone arrives in a sleek black retail box, its rear panel finished in premium AG frosted glass with an anti-fingerprint coating. The familiar ‘Monster Inside’ branding sits beside a bold iQOO logo, while the signature blue and red stripes nod to the ongoing partnership with BMW M Motorsport – a collaboration that has become a symbol of iQOO’s performance identity.
Design-wise, the iQOO 15 feels both familiar and fresh. The back panel is noticeably flatter than that of the iQOO 13, creating a cleaner silhouette that complements the large triple-camera module on the rear. The cameras are encased in a metallic ring with LED lights now positioned around the frame, giving it a more refined, modern touch. The phone’s metal body is emphasized by visible antenna lines, confirming a robust build quality. The right side features the usual power and volume buttons, while the bottom hosts the USB-C port, a speaker grille, a microphone, and a SIM card tray. On the top, you’ll find an additional speaker, a secondary mic, and an IR blaster – a small but welcome inclusion for tech enthusiasts.
The retail box includes a premium protective case, suggesting that iQOO intends to make each color variant come with its own matching accessory. This aligns with their approach from previous releases, though the upgraded case quality hints at a more polished unboxing experience.
The major talking point, however, is the confirmed drop in charging wattage. Unlike the iQOO 13’s 120W FlashCharge system, the iQOO 15 comes with a 100W charger in the box. While that may seem like a step back, context matters. Industry insiders and tipster Digital Chat Station had already predicted this change, and for good reason: the phone is reportedly housing a massive 7,000 mAh battery – significantly larger than the 6,150 mAh unit in the previous generation. This means users are trading a bit of peak charging speed for much longer endurance, improved thermal stability, and better long-term battery health. In real-world use, the difference between 100W and 120W charging is marginal, but the gain in battery life could be substantial.
Under the hood, iQOO isn’t compromising on raw power. The iQOO 15 is confirmed to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset – the most advanced mobile processor currently available – paired with the new OriginOS 6. The 6.85-inch display supports a 144Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution, catering directly to gamers and performance lovers. To reinforce that gaming DNA, iQOO has also included a Q3 chip dedicated to graphics optimization and system responsiveness. Furthermore, IP68 and IP69 certifications ensure solid protection against dust and water, and wireless charging finally joins the feature list – a first for the Legend Edition.
In short, the iQOO 15 appears to be an evolution rather than a revolution. While some might lament the loss of 120W charging, the new configuration offers a better balance between performance, efficiency, and durability. It’s a flagship built not just for speed, but for staying power – both figuratively and literally.

The bigger battery is a win, I’d rather charge slower and get longer use
100W is still crazy fast tbh, like who really needs 120W lol 😅
