The upcoming iQOO 15 has finally had its most crucial specification confirmed: the processor. After weeks of teasers about design and auxiliary features, iQOO officially revealed that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship chipset.
This was widely expected, considering that previous iQOO flagships also used Qualcomm’s top-tier processors, but confirmation always seals the deal.
Interestingly, iQOO has clarified that this chip will not be limited to the Chinese model. The Indian variant, along with other international releases, will also be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. While no serious rumors suggested otherwise, fans were still eager for reassurance, especially as markets sometimes receive watered-down versions of devices. That won’t be the case here.
Beyond raw performance, iQOO is betting big on software. The iQOO 15 will ship with OriginOS 6, marking one of the first times this system extends beyond China. For years, vivo’s global devices leaned on Funtouch OS, leaving OriginOS as a domestic exclusive. Now, international users will finally experience the sleek interface, new animations, and deep customization options that have made it popular in China. It’s a strategic move, especially since the upcoming vivo X300 series will also use OriginOS globally, showing vivo’s confidence in unifying its software experience worldwide.
Hardware-wise, the iQOO 15 aims to be more than just another flagship. The phone is confirmed to feature a massive 6.85-inch QHD display with a buttery-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, catering to gamers and multimedia enthusiasts. Under the hood, it includes a dedicated Q3 gaming chip to optimize frame rates and reduce latency, highlighting iQOO’s focus on performance-driven features. Photography fans can look forward to a periscope telephoto camera, expected to deliver competitive zoom capabilities, while the back cover will come with a color-changing design that reacts to lighting conditions – bringing both style and innovation to the table.
With the official launch in China expected next month and a global debut likely before year’s end, excitement is mounting. iQOO has been steadily positioning itself as a performance-first brand that doesn’t shy away from bold design choices, and the iQOO 15 looks set to continue that tradition. For fans, it’s not just about another Snapdragon-powered flagship – it’s about the promise of a holistic upgrade in hardware, software, and user experience.
