Apple has officially set September 9 as the date for its upcoming “Awe Dropping” event, and excitement is already building.
This year’s iPhone 17 lineup looks set to break from tradition with bold new finishes and the thinnest design Apple has ever produced.
The highlight is expected to be the iPhone 17 Air, which Apple is teasing as its slimmest and lightest iPhone to date. The event’s tagline seems to emphasize this design shift, making the Air the centerpiece of the show. Early hints suggest the iPhone 17 Air will debut in a striking sky-blue shade, similar to the M4 MacBook Air’s finish.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro will reportedly arrive in a bold new orange finish. The colors were indirectly confirmed through Apple’s event logo, where orange and blue accents hint at the new palette. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reinforced the speculation by pointing out the direct correlation between the animated Apple logo and the upcoming models’ colors.
Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to introduce refreshed Apple Watch models and updated AirPods. Still, all eyes appear to be on the iPhone 17 Air, with its ultra-thin profile stealing the spotlight even from the premium Pro series.
Whether the Pro models or the featherweight Air ultimately dominate the headlines, Apple’s September keynote is shaping up to be one of the most visually striking iPhone launches in years.
