iOS 26 is set to address one of the most frustrating aspects of Apple Wallet. After months of beta testing, the stable version of iOS 26 is almost here, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 17 lineup in September.
Along with several exciting updates, including the Liquid Glass redesign, iOS 26 also brings small yet significant tweaks to Apple apps, particularly Apple Wallet.
One of the major improvements is a fix for an issue with unwanted push notifications in Apple Wallet. Earlier this year, Apple annoyed many iPhone users by sending push notifications advertising offers, including one for ‘F1 The Movie’ tickets. While such notifications weren’t well-received, there was no easy way to stop them without turning off all Wallet notifications, which wasn’t ideal for users who rely on Wallet for essential items like Apple Pay cards, boarding passes, and tickets.
Fortunately, iOS 26 introduces a new toggle in the Wallet app’s notifications menu specifically for ‘Offers & Promotions.’ By disabling this feature, users can stop receiving unwanted ads via push notifications from Apple Wallet. This option will be enabled by default, meaning you’ll have to manually turn it off if you want to avoid these promotions.
With iOS 26 nearing its final beta release, users can look forward to the new iPhone 17 lineup, which will feature models like the super-thin iPhone 17 Air and the redesigned iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.

Wait, so I have to turn it off manually? That’s a bit annoying too

Good fix, but I feel like Apple could’ve done this a while ago 🤷♂️
