Chinese overclocker wytiwx has once again pushed the boundaries of what Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs can achieve, setting a new world record by hitting 9.13 GHz on the Core i9-14900KF.

Using liquid helium cooling and an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard paired with Corsair Vengeance memory, the enthusiast squeezed every drop of performance from Intel’s flagship chip.

This wasn’t wytiwx’s first breakthrough – earlier this year he beat Elmor’s long-standing 9117.75 MHz record with 9121.61 MHz. Now, his latest run has pushed all P-cores to a jaw-dropping 9130.33 MHz, validated through CPU-Z and shared on HWBot. The voltage used? Just 1.388V, proving that extreme cooling and the right hardware can unlock unheard-of frequencies.

As with other legendary records, liquid helium – not liquid nitrogen – was the secret sauce, allowing lower temps and more stable clocks. Wytiwx credited hardware partners including Corsair, ASUS ROG, Thermal Grizzly, and ElmorLabs, alongside his teammates who helped make the setup possible. Photos of the frosty rig quickly spread across enthusiast forums.

While Intel’s newer Core Ultra 200 series shines in multi-threaded tasks, gamers and overclockers continue to favor the 13th and 14th gen Raptor Lake chips for their balance of performance, availability, and overclocking headroom. Intel’s Gamer Days promotions and game bundles only add to their appeal, especially with prices dipping below MSRP.

Records like this highlight both the limits and the spectacle of modern overclocking – pushing silicon beyond anything most consumers will ever use. It’s less about practicality and more about bragging rights, but it cements the Core i9-14900KF’s place in history as one of the most extreme CPUs ever built.
