Infinix has officially launched the Hot 60i 5G, a budget-friendly device that balances modern connectivity with some surprising trade-offs. Following the Hot 60i 4G released in July, the new model comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 SoC and runs Android 15-based XOS 15.1.

It ships with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD card.

The phone features a 6.75-inch 120Hz HD+ LCD with 670 nits peak brightness, though instead of the punch-hole seen on the 4G version, Infinix has reverted to a notch for the selfie camera – now just 5MP compared to the earlier 8MP. On the rear, a 50MP main shooter leads the dual-camera setup, with the second lens likely serving as a depth or auxiliary unit.

Battery life gets a boost, as the Hot 60i 5G packs a huge 6,000 mAh cell, up from the 4G model’s 5,160 mAh. However, fast charging takes a hit: instead of 45W, the new model only supports 18W wired charging. Still, users do get 10W reverse wired charging, a nice extra for budget buyers.

Other highlights include Infinix AI features, a dedicated microSD slot, IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, IR blaster, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone comes in Shadow Blue, Sleek Black, Monsoon Green, and Plum Red, and is priced at INR 9,299 (about $105/€90). It’s already available via Infinix’s website and will hit Flipkart and retail stores on August 21.

While the large battery and fair pricing make the Hot 60i 5G appealing, some users argue that 4GB RAM feels outdated in 2025, and the chipset choice limits the device’s potential. Others can’t help but notice how even the outfits in phone ads sometimes look more premium than the phones themselves.
