Huawei Mate XTs: The Next Evolution in Tri-Fold Smartphones
Huawei is gearing up to unveil its much-anticipated second tri-fold smartphone, the Huawei Mate XTs. Set to launch on September 4 at 2:30 PM Beijing time (6:30 AM UTC), this device is expected to build on the success of its predecessor, the Mate XT, from last year. With some exciting new features, it promises to take foldable smartphone technology to the next level.
Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business Group, teased the upcoming device in a short video, where he was seen using a stylus on the device’s main screen. The Mate XTs in the teaser comes in a stunning white color with gold accents, offering a fresh aesthetic. Despite the new look, the device is likely to have similar dimensions to its predecessor, retaining the familiar feel that users loved in the original Mate XT.
While the exact details are yet to be fully revealed, previous leaks suggest that the Mate XTs will feature an upgraded chipset, likely the Kirin 9020, offering enhanced performance and the addition of satellite connectivity. For photography enthusiasts, the device is expected to come with a new 50MP main camera, complete with a variable aperture, and an updated periscope telephoto lens for superior zoom capabilities.
As for the rest of the specifications, the screens and battery capacity are rumored to stay the same as the Mate XT, which means users can expect the same high-quality display and lasting battery life. In terms of pricing, the Mate XTs will likely be priced similarly to its predecessor in China, at CNY 20,000 ($2,800).
With its combination of cutting-edge technology and a sleek design, the Huawei Mate XTs is shaping up to be one of the most exciting foldable devices of the year. Keep an eye on the September 4 launch to get a closer look at what Huawei has in store for us.

I really hope it’s lighter than the last one… the Mate XT was a bit bulky
This new tri-fold is gonna be amazing!! Just hope the price doesn’t go too crazy 🤔
So excited for the Mate XTs. The previous model was a hit, and this seems like it’s gonna be even better!
I don’t think foldables will ever be practical enough to replace a regular phone. I prefer something simple
