HTC is stepping beyond VR with the unveiling of its Vive Eagle AI glasses, blending stylish everyday eyewear with powerful tech.
Designed to rival the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, the Vive Eagle offers a discreet design while packing in a first-person-view 12MP ultra-wide camera, AI-assisted features, and integrated stereo speakers.
Available in translucent Black, Berry, Coffee, and Grey, the glasses capture photos at 3,024 × 4,032 px and video at 1,512 × 2,016 px at 30fps. Under the hood, they’re powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage, all in a lightweight 49g build with Zeiss lenses and IP54 water/dust resistance.
The Vive Eagle supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, pairing with iOS 17.6+ or Android 10+ devices via the Vive Connect app. Open-ear stereo speakers are built into the temples for private but ambient listening
. HTC’s Vive AI assistant is onboard, working with Google Gemini and ChatGPT (beta), alongside real-time translation for 13 languages with instant spoken output.
Its 235mAh battery promises up to 36 hours standby, 4.5 hours of music playback, or 3 hours of calls. Rapid charging via the included magnetic charger delivers 50% in 10 minutes or 80% in 23 minutes. In Taiwan, pre-orders are live at NTD 15,600 (about $521), with general sales starting September 1. Global availability is still under wraps.
