HP has lifted the curtain on the Omen Max 45L, a muscle-bound refresh of its already beefy Omen 45L, now powered by AMD’s top-tier silicon. Set for a December launch, this monster can be configured with up to an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU – a pairing that promises to push frames into the stratosphere. 
While pricing remains under wraps, don’t expect it to be a bargain; the current Omen 45L starts at $1,999, and this one’s clearly meant for the deep-pocketed gamer.
Compared to the standard Omen 45L, the Max model trades in the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K option for AMD’s crown jewel, which easily outpaces its Intel rival. There’s also a Ryzen 7 9800X3D variant for those who don’t need overkill performance. HP’s tweaks go beyond just the processor: a re-engineered design now sports raised feet, open bottom vents, and vented PCI slots to keep things chill, alongside a new 1,200W fully modular PSU – up from the previous 1,000W ceiling – ready to feed the hungriest GPUs. Liquid cooling remains the centerpiece, backed by triple 120mm front fans and a single rear 120mm fan, while the roomy chassis ensures future upgrades won’t be a headache.
At 49.82 pounds, the Max 45L is still a hefty beast, and the base configuration disappointingly clings to a 512GB NVMe SSD – a questionable choice for a high-end gaming rig. That said, for those craving pure performance, the new airflow and PSU improvements could be reason enough to overlook storage shortcomings.
HP also rolled out refreshed Omen 35L desktops with similar upgrades, including the same AMD chipset options and 1,200W PSU. A stealthy all-black, RGB-free Omen 35L Stealth Edition joins the lineup for gamers who want raw power without the light show. These 35L models hit HP’s store in October starting at $1,499.99.
