Hollow Knight fans finally have a date to circle on their calendars. Developer Team Cherry has announced that a special Hollow Knight: Silksong presentation will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 7:30am PT / 10:30am ET / 3:30pm BST. 
The broadcast will premiere on YouTube, promising fresh details on the long-awaited sequel.
This marks the first major communication from Team Cherry in quite some time, and the timing suggests that the long-speculated release date reveal could be imminent. While Silksong is also expected to appear during Gamescom ONL 2025, industry chatter hints that the real news – its official launch window – may be reserved for Thursday’s spotlight event.
The game’s presence at Gamescom has already been confirmed, with Xbox marketing ties adding fuel to rumors that Silksong’s release may coincide with the debut of the ROG Xbox Ally handheld. Some analysts expect a dual announcement, pairing hardware and game to create maximum buzz.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has further stoked speculation, suggesting the release date is indeed being held for Thursday’s presentation rather than the ONL showcase. If true, the community could finally get the news it has been waiting years for.
