The impossible has finally happened – Halo is appearing on PlayStation, though not as a full game, but through a stylish crossover with Helldivers 2. 
The upcoming warbond, dropping on August 26, 2025, coincides with the game’s Xbox launch and brings a wave of nostalgia for fans who remember the fierce console wars of two decades ago.
This warbond channels the spirit of Halo: ODST, letting Super Earth’s soldiers don iconic ODST-style armor. Players will also wield fan-favorite Halo weapons like the MA5C Assault Rifle and the M6C/SOCOM Pistol. Alongside the gear, players can unlock new capes, banners, passives, and a special title to show off their allegiance.
The timing feels symbolic: on the very same day, Gears of War: Reloaded lands on PlayStation 5. What once would’ve been unthinkable – Xbox icons crossing onto PlayStation – now feels almost natural in 2025’s gaming landscape. Yet for anyone who lived through the old rivalries, seeing a Halo-inspired drop start with a PlayStation Studios logo is still a jaw-dropper.
So while Halo itself isn’t fully on PlayStation, this crossover scratches the itch and fuels speculation about what other iconic cross-platform surprises the future may hold.
