Google is taking another step toward making Android smarter and more helpful by expanding Live Updates support to Google Wallet. Originally introduced with Android 16 in June, Live Updates provides dynamic, real-time notifications for ongoing activities such as ride-hailing, food delivery, and navigation. Now, that same convenience extends to your travel experiences – including flights, train journeys, and even event tickets – all accessible directly from your lockscreen without ever having to open another app.
With this update, users can now receive key travel information like boarding times, platform changes, gate numbers, and event start times in one glance.
The goal is clear: to reduce friction during trips and make information delivery seamless and contextual. The system updates dynamically, meaning that if a flight is delayed or a train departs from another platform, the notification refreshes automatically.
Interestingly, Samsung is also joining the party. The company’s Now Bar feature, part of its One UI 8 interface, has integrated support for displaying travel information from Google Wallet. Devices running One UI 8 alongside Google Play Services version 25.41 will now show the same live travel updates, giving Galaxy users the same real-time awareness and convenience as Pixel owners. It’s another sign of growing collaboration between Google’s ecosystem and Android device manufacturers, aiming to create a more unified and intuitive mobile experience for travelers worldwide.
Overall, this integration marks a subtle but significant improvement – less app juggling, fewer missed updates, and a smoother, smarter way to stay on top of your journeys.

Cool update but I still don’t trust auto-refresh notifications 😆
